Getting started with Lumicast

Learn the basics and find out what you can do with Lumicast

Welcome to Lumicast!

Digital signage was never easier to implement. With our user-friendly web application you can always control what is shown on your displays.

Start with your first workspace

Upon registering, you automatically create your first workspace (within the organisation you gave a name). This workspace enables you to:

  • Manage and create content
  • Connect and manage displays
  • Invite other users to work together
  • Plan content ahead

Upload your first media

Go to the β€˜Media’ or β€˜Content’ tab and click on the + sign to upload your media items.

Lumicast will automatically process your image or video so it is ready to be shown on your displays. That’s why you will sometimes see your image or video processing like this:

Create your first app

With apps you can easily create a very dynamic experience for the viewers of your screen. Pull in existing data with ease, and let the app do all of the heavy lifting.

  1. Go to the β€˜App store’ or β€˜Content’
    1. In case you are on the content tab, click on the + sign at the top right
  1. Search the app you want to create
  1. Click on the app to start configuring it
  1. Configure the app

Combine content in playlists

To show multiple pieces of content on your display, you can create a playlist. In a playlist you can schedule what content plays at what moment. It is what most users decide to display on their displays, because you are not limited to one app or image playing at all times.

  1. Go to β€˜Playlists’ in the menu
  1. Click on the + sign at the top right
  1. Simply enter a name and if you want, pick an animation that plays when the playlist switches to a new content item

  1. Optionally edit the playlist items, decide when they play and for how long

  1. Publish the playlist by pressing the β€˜Publish’ button. By default, your playlist is a draft until you hit β€˜Publish’. Only after publishing your changes will be visible on your displays

Create your first display

The main goal of your Lumicast workspace is to manage what is showing on your displays. You can create your first Lumicast display on the β€˜Displays’ page.

  1. Go the β€˜Displays’ page in the menu
  1. Click on the + sign at the top right
  1. Click on β€˜Connect display’

  1. Give the display a name, and enter the code you receive from the player

At one point you might have a lot of displays in your workspace. To keep a good overview of your displays, you can create display groups.

Easily collapse groups when you want to clear some space.
